Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the sports world offered its support for the fighter in the following the heartbreaking incident.
