Accused Harasser Asked: 'However Suppose I Might Be Madeleine?'
A individual accused with harassing Kate McCann allegedly deposited her a phone message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"
Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has consistently declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial indicted with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.
On Monday, the tribunal heard phone records and information retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test over 2023 and 2024.
Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most covered missing child cases and remains open.
'I Do Not Need Money'
Another voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine was, but I believe what I know."
While one recording of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "What if there is a small chance that I am she? What then? Is that not significant for you?"
"I am not seeking money, I possess a living here in Poland, I simply desire to discover," she added.
The jury was told that through emails, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.
The investigator, an intelligence analyst with the police force who compiled the information, informed the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the phone records.
On that date, Gerry McCann picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."
During that incident Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will continue and I will prove my claim."
The court heard the co-defendant established a connection through digital means with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in December 2024.
Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted using communication app to Mrs McCann to say the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be treated respectfully in the time before the appearance to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.
The court learned correspondence between the two accused, in last November, discussing trying to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from cutlery at a dining venue.
"We have to take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.
On the occasion of the visit to their home, the defendant sent a text which expressed: "We're currently positioned adjacent to the McCanns' home with our lights out like detectives. I wanted to accomplish this with another person I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
The case continues.
